Dorian Mirth Playing for Third Line Party in Salt Lake
Dorian Mirth is pleased to announce they will be playing the third year in a row for the Salt Lake City TheOneRing.Net (or TORN) sponsored Line Party. The Salt Lake based Medieval/Renaissance Music Ensemble has enjoyed being part of the fun-filled atmosphere created by organizer Larry Curtis, and this year will be no different.
“This year’s party is going to be amazing!” Melonie, a member of Dorian Mirth exclaimed. “The final installment of Peter Jackson’s masterpiece simply demands the best party ever to help launch its opening day. We are thrilled to once again to be an element of the party’s success!”
The party will be held at the Hollywood Connection Ritz 15 Cinema in West Valley City on December 16th. The main event is a midnight showing of The Return of the King – the last movie in Peter Jackson’s trilogy. Fans, who would have waited in line for hours to see the movie anyway, have the opportunity to make the wait a party. There will be a costume contest, prizes, general merry making by approximately 1,100 largely Utah-based fans, and of course, live entertainment.
Kierstin, Founder and Director of Dorian Mirth said, “It’s been a great pleasure and honor being part of the largest line party in the world for all three years of the films! We love being able to annually reconnect with the local fans; we feel our music really has a place in this kind of setting, as we always get a great reception.”
Founded a little over three years ago with friends interested in music from the Medieval and Renaissance eras, Dorian Mirth has provided entertainment for many weddings and events in Salt Lake City and even some in Los Angeles. Being fans of The Lord of the Rings (both the books and the movies) makes The Lord of the Rings events their favorite gigs, including TORN’s Oscar Party held in Hollywood, California in March, 2003.
