Lord of the Rings Symphony
We are so very proud to announce the confirmation of our next gig. The Lord of the Rings Symphony composed by Howard Shore will be coming to Salt Lake City on October 29 and 30, presented by the Utah Symphony. Dorian Mirth will be providing pre-show entertainment in the lobby of Abravanel Hall both evenings. Having been specially requested we will be wearing our best Lord of the Rings costumes and playing plenty of good music, including several selections related to Lord of the Rings.
Tickets to the symphony performance can still be purchased via utahsymphony.org. Or one may opt to join Into the West- Lord of the Rings Fellowship of Utah for the Lord of the Rings Gala and Fundraising event to benefit Jackson Elementary School. Enjoy dinner. TORN Digital Oscar Party

Summer Events
We’ll be fairly busy for the rest of the summer, as posted in our Upcoming Appearances page. After all the fun at the Utah Scottish Festival we’re making the rounds of the local version (as suggested by plenty of clan folk), beginning this year with the Emery County Scottish Festival in Castle Dale.
First though in July is a few nights opening up Robin Hood presented in the Layton City Ampitheatre. Nothing like a great show on a starry summer night!
Oh and we’re already at work on Christmas songs

Highland Games
Dorian Mirth had a fabulous and successful time at the Highland Games at Thanksgiving Pointe, Utah. It was an all-day gig with a constant stream of listeners. We had a hard time breaking away for even a few minutes to get food! Watching all the be-kilted folk walk by was very exciting for us, too! Dorian Mirth would like to thank the organizers for giving us the opportunity to play at such a fun event.

TolCon
TolCon – A Tolkien Convention hosted by the Northwest Tolkien Society was a delightful success. Our group had a lovely time both playing and taking part in the many panels and activities offered throughout the weekend. War in Woodland
We had a wonderful time on Saturday and want to thank the Order of the Rose and their guests for hosting us and making the day so enjoyable. We had a great audience for the music, but also relaxed and were able to explore the surrounding park and natural features in between sets.

New Lord of the Rings pieces
We are happy to be presenting this next week, perhaps at War in Woodland and certainly at TolCon several new pieces from or relating to the Lord of the Rings films.
Concerning Hobbits
(recorders, harp, guitar, zither, percussion)
Have played this for a couple of years, however now we have a few new measures that are in the film but not on the soundtrack. Also adding more instruments than the previous arrangement.
Into the West

Very new addition but sounding lovely!

Arrangement and expansion of the fun drinking song from Fellowship of the Ring, it alternates instrumental with singing and includes all kinds of exciting percussion!
